Fifty Years
of Specifically Selected Products
We offer gas (both natural and LP), wood, and pellet
freestanding stoves, fireplace inserts, and built-in fireplaces.
We have three brands of the products. Why only three? Because,
in the fifty years we have been in business we have had the
opportunity to be very selective. We look for quality and
durability; we look for manufacturers that honor their
warranties. We want to sell reliable products because we will do
all we can to ensure that your product works for you. If we sell
unreliable products, we have to do more service calls to make
them work. So, we sell only the best.
Fireplace or
Insert?
Many are
confused by the difference between inserts and fireplaces. You
must have a fireplace in your home in order to utilize an
insert. If you have no fireplace, you are a candidate for either
a free standing stove or a built-in fireplace. Built-in
fireplaces are factory built and commonly known as zero
clearance fireplaces, because they are placed directly on the
combustible floor and framed into a combustible enclosure which
is subsequently tiled, bricked, or stoned in to give it the look
of a site built fireplace. These zero clearance units are
perfectly safe as long as the manufacturers clearances are
strictly followed.
Why Reline
the Chimney?
When installing
fireplace inserts, we always put new liners into the chimney
because the fireplace flue is built large to handle the high
heat, high velocity gases of the inefficient fireplace. When
installing an efficient insert, the flue gases are much cooler
and slower moving. If dumped directly into the relatively big
flue, they expand to fill it resulting in more cooling and
slowing.
In gas inserts, water vapor condensates with the resulting
moisture harmful to both the chimney and the insert.
In the case of wood or pellet inserts, dangerous
creosotes develop. In addition, cleaning maintenance is
simplified when the liner system directly attaches to the insert
and goes all the way to the top of the chimney. It eliminates
having to pull the insert out of the fireplace in order to
remove the cleaned debris.
Accessories
In addition, we
offer a large variety of fireplace and stove accessories. These
include fireplace glass doors, gas log sets, screens, tool sets, grates, wood
holders and
carriers,
gloves, gasketing, stovepipe, chimney and high heat paint to
name a few.
